Before you start
- A Lethir workspace and access to your Meta Ads account.
- A Facebook profile assigned to your active ad account. Creating ads also requires access to the Facebook Page used by the ads.
- A reporting currency that matches your ad account. You can select one account per platform.
- A working Meta connection in Lethir. Your Facebook password stays with Meta.
Lethir requests ads_read, ads_management, and business_management for account discovery, reporting, and approved campaign changes. Authorizing the connection does not launch or modify ads.
Connect your account
Open Connections in Lethir.
Sign in to your Lethir workspace, then choose Connections. On the Meta Ads card, select Connect Meta Ads. If the card says Setup needed, complete the app setup section below first.
Authorize with Facebook.
Sign in to the Facebook profile that has access to your Meta ad account. Review the requested access and grant access to the business assets you want to use. Keep the same Lethir sign-in session open until you return.
Choose your active ad account.
Select Select ad account in Lethir and match the account name and ID against Meta Ads Manager. The list includes active accounts available to your authorization. Choose one using the same currency as your workspace.
Sync Facebook and Instagram performance.
Select Sync campaigns. Once a last-synced time appears, open Overview or Campaigns. Lethir imports the selected ad account’s campaigns and last-30-day insights. Instagram delivery is included when it belongs to that ad account.
Your first report
Overview shows spend, conversions, return on ad spend, and cost per conversion from your last successful sync. Before that, metrics show a dash. A real zero stays zero; ratios with no spend or conversions remain unavailable.
Use Campaigns to filter and inspect accounts, or Export to download your synced campaign report. Run an audit to flag active campaigns with spend and no attributed conversions. Check conversion tracking before approving a suggested pause.
The campaign editor creates paused Meta website-traffic campaigns. The campaign, ad set, and ad all start paused. Review and activate each delivery level in Ads Manager when you are ready.
Open Meta AdsIf something needs attention
The card says Setup needed
Lethir’s platform credentials are missing. The app operator needs to complete App setup below. Adding an account ID alone will not enable authorization.
My account is missing
Confirm your Facebook profile has been assigned to the active ad account in Meta Business Suite. Check the assets granted during authorization. A disabled ad account is not listed. Reconnect after permissions change.
My currency is different
Before selecting an account or creating a draft, change Reporting currency in Settings. Currency becomes locked once campaigns or a selected account exist. Lethir does not convert currencies or combine mismatched accounts.
Authorization failed or expired
Return to Lethir in the same browser as your sign-in and start Connect again. Finish within ten minutes. If the platform reports an app restriction or redirect mismatch, use App setup below to check app access and the exact callback URL.
The report is empty or the sync failed
An empty successful sync can mean the selected account has no campaigns or no activity in the reporting period. Check the account ID and Ads Manager. A failed sync retains your previous report and shows a message. Check permissions, reconnect if needed, and retry.
The numbers differ from Ads Manager
Compare the same account and 30-day period, check the last-synced time, and use the same attribution settings. Lethir displays platform-reported results; Google conversion actions and Meta purchases are different measures.
Enable the Meta Ads connection
This is a one-time app configuration. Advertisers connecting to an already configured Lethir app do not need their own developer credentials.
The callback URL must match exactly, including www:
https://www.lethir.com/api/ads/callback/meta
Configure your Meta developer app.
Use the Meta app dashboard to configure Marketing API access and the Facebook login flow for your app’s use case. Add the callback above to the allowed OAuth redirect URLs. Supply the domain, privacy policy, and other app details Meta requests.
Set up the requested permissions.
Lethir requests
ads_read,ads_management, andbusiness_management. Follow the access-level, App Review, and business verification requirements shown in your Meta dashboard. Availability can differ between app-role test users and advertisers outside the app.Save credentials in production Convex.
Set
META_APP_IDandMETA_APP_SECRET. KeepSITE_URLset tohttps://www.lethir.com. Use a supportedMETA_API_VERSIONfor your app if overriding the default. Store secrets only in environment settings.Verify assets with a test connection.
Authorize a permitted user, select an active ad account, and sync. Before creating ads, verify that the user and app have the Page and ad-account permissions required for the chosen Facebook Page.
Official reference: Meta Marketing API setup (Meta sign-in may be required). The app dashboard is the authority for the permissions and review steps available to your app.
The shared TOKEN_ENCRYPTION_KEY must also be configured. Lethir’s setup badge checks that credentials are present; a successful authorization and sync confirm that they work.
Reconnect or disconnect
Use Reconnect when access expires or permissions change, signing in to the same platform account. To switch ad accounts, disconnect the current account and connect again.
Disconnect removes Lethir’s stored tokens and synced campaign cache for that connection. It does not delete or pause your ads on Meta Ads. To revoke access at the provider too, remove Lethir from your Facebook business integrations settings.
