Before you start
- A Lethir workspace and access to your Google Ads account.
- A Google account with permission to view campaigns and reports. Editing ads requires the appropriate account access.
- A reporting currency that matches your ad account. You can select one account per platform.
- A working Google Ads connection in Lethir. Your account password stays with Google.
Lethir requests Google Ads access to read reports and carry out campaign changes you approve. Authorizing the connection does not launch or modify ads.
Connect your account
Open Connections in Lethir.
Sign in to your Lethir workspace, then choose Connections. On the Google Ads card, select Connect Google Ads. If the card says Setup needed, complete the app setup section below first.
Authorize the right Google account.
Choose the Google account that has access to your advertiser account. Review the requested Google Ads access and approve it. Keep the same Lethir sign-in session open during authorization.
Select your advertiser account.
When you return to Lethir, choose Select ad account. Match the account name and customer ID against Google Ads. Manager accounts themselves are not selectable; choose an advertiser account. Accounts in a different currency are disabled.
Import your first report.
Select Sync campaigns. Wait for the success message and last-synced time, then open Overview or Campaigns. Refresh campaigns whenever you want current data; syncs are manual.
Your first report
Overview shows spend, conversions, return on ad spend, and cost per conversion from your last successful sync. Before that, metrics show a dash. A real zero stays zero; ratios with no spend or conversions remain unavailable.
Use Campaigns to filter and inspect accounts, or Export to download your synced campaign report. Run an audit to flag active campaigns with spend and no attributed conversions. Check conversion tracking before approving a suggested pause.
The campaign editor creates paused Google Search campaigns. Other Google campaign types can appear in reports, but are not supported by the creation form.
Open Google AdsIf something needs attention
The card says Setup needed
Lethir’s platform credentials are missing. The app operator needs to complete App setup below. Adding an account ID alone will not enable authorization.
My account is missing
Confirm you used the Google account with advertiser access. Ask your Google Ads administrator to check access and manager links. Lethir lists advertiser accounts, not manager accounts. If discovery fails, the app operator should check Cloud API access and manager configuration.
My currency is different
Before selecting an account or creating a draft, change Reporting currency in Settings. Currency becomes locked once campaigns or a selected account exist. Lethir does not convert currencies or combine mismatched accounts.
Authorization failed or expired
Return to Lethir in the same browser as your sign-in and start Connect again. Finish within ten minutes. If the platform reports an app restriction or redirect mismatch, use App setup below to check app access and the exact callback URL.
The report is empty or the sync failed
An empty successful sync can mean the selected account has no campaigns or no activity in the reporting period. Check the account ID and Ads Manager. A failed sync retains your previous report and shows a message. Check permissions, reconnect if needed, and retry.
The numbers differ from Ads Manager
Compare the same account and 30-day period, check the last-synced time, and use the same attribution settings. Lethir displays platform-reported results; Google conversion actions and Meta purchases are different measures.
Enable the Google Ads connection
This is a one-time app configuration. Advertisers connecting to an already configured Lethir app do not need their own developer credentials.
The callback URL must match exactly, including www:
https://www.lethir.com/api/ads/callback/google
Configure a Google Cloud project.
Enable the Google Ads API in the project that owns your OAuth client. Check its API access level and obtain production access before connecting real advertiser accounts. API access is managed in Google Cloud; a legacy developer token is no longer required.
Create a Web application OAuth client.
Configure the app’s Google Auth Platform branding, audience, and data access. Use
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords. Add the callback above as an authorized redirect URI. Use the exact domain and HTTPS scheme.Save credentials in production Convex.
Set
GOOGLE_CLIENT_IDandGOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET. KeepSITE_URLset tohttps://www.lethir.com. If your account hierarchy requires a manager context, setGOOGLE_ADS_LOGIN_CUSTOMER_IDto that manager’s customer ID. Never paste secrets into chat or public fields.Check audience and API approval.
While testing, add the intended users to the OAuth test audience. Complete the provider’s required verification before wider use. Reopen Connections after saving credentials, then authorize, select an advertiser account, and sync.

The shared TOKEN_ENCRYPTION_KEY must also be configured. Lethir’s setup badge checks that credentials are present; a successful authorization and sync confirm that they work.
Reconnect or disconnect
Use Reconnect when access expires or permissions change, signing in to the same platform account. To switch ad accounts, disconnect the current account and connect again.
Disconnect removes Lethir’s stored tokens and synced campaign cache for that connection. It does not delete or pause your ads on Google Ads. To revoke access at the provider too, remove Lethir from your Google Account’s third-party connections settings.
